“Flipping the video content into the hands of the students allows them to take charge of what they are learning and how they can help their peers. It allows them to give back to their school community.”

– Shelley Lauren

I would like for our school to create an online library of flipped learning videos. My idea is to allow the students to create the content of the videos to be used in all aspects of the school. The students could create videos to supplement struggling populations, such as ESL students or the STAAR EOC re-testers. Flipped learning instruction is such an efficient and time-saving method, but many teachers approach the concept with an attitude of "what more are they asking me to do now?" Not every teacher has the time, inclination, or tech- savvy to master video production. However, students do.

From my own experience, students often learn better from each other - they are able to explain things to each other in a way adults can't always manage. Flipping the video content into the hands of the students allows them to take charge of what they are learning and how they can help their peers. It allows them to give back to their school community.
