“Technology is a powerful tool that can transform both student learning and the manner in which they engage with their education.”

– Belinda Omentisch

My middle grade students were reading significantly below grade level. Last year I started a blended learning project aimed at providing my students with a menu of programs that were intended to improve their academic performance. More than 80% of my students met their growth goals in reading as established by Scholastic's Reading Inventory (RI) assessment. However, I was unsuccessful in bringing my students to the point where they independently developed goals.

Now with the IEP funding, I can implement The Own it! Program which will round out their blended learning experience and give them the tools to develop behaviors that will enable them to become strong, engaged, productive citizens.
