Parent Support for Online Learning

Parent Support for Online Learning (PSOL) was founded in March of 2020 when schools across the country began to close due to COVID-19 and provides resources, guidance, and mentorship to fellow parents as they navigate online learning for their children.

Founder and leader of PSOL, Tillie Elvrum, is long-time parent advocate and visionary for school choice and empowering parents to support their children.

PSOL believes in supporting ALL learning styles and school types. Whether that’s remote learning through traditional school, enrollment in a full-time online or blended learning program, homeschooling, or supplementing their education at home, PSOL’s community of parents, educators, and advocates help one another.

PSOL currently serves 5,800 members from around the world through social media, specifically, a customized Facebook group. Its network includes many educators offering their insights and expertise.

PSOL has four aspects:

  • The Parent Exchange is a Facebook Live program hosted by the Parent Support for Online Learning community. The shows are created by and for parents with topics covering online learning, school choice, and parenting. curated resources, a mentorship program, and weekly Facebook live stream. The Parent Exchange is a great way to connect parents, educators, advocates, and students across the country.

  • Mentorship PSOL provides a mentorship program to members of our Facebook community. The mentorship program allows for more personalized support for families.

  • Based on popular posts and topics of discussion in its online community, the Resources List is by no means comprehensive, but a great place to start for parents looking for activities and support for their students.

  • Blog for shared ideas, resources and information.
