AASA: THE SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENTS ASSOCIATION

An education non-profit, AASA is also known as The School Superintendents Association, advocates for equitable access for all students to the highest quality public education and develops and supports school system leaders.

Founded in 1865, AASA is the professional organization for more than 13,000 educational leaders in the U.S. AASA focuses on:

  • National advocacy

  • Regional collaboration

  • Setting the stage, and expectations, for public education

  • District outcomes

  • Community impact

13,000 school leaders are members of AASA and have access to tools, resources, and other leaders, all with the main goal of providing equitable access for all students to the highest quality public education

AASA Executive Director since 2008, Dan Domenech, has over 36 years of experience in public education, 27 of those years as a superintendent.

Future of School formalized its partnership with The School Superintendents Association on December 18, 2020. The goal of this collaboration is multifaceted; with very closely aligned missions, both organizations are leaders in the nonprofit space working to directly, and indirectly, with districts, schools, and leaders who are working with diligence to not only respond to the challenges they face presented by the pandemic but who are taking it to the next level—reimagining what and how school looks like in 2021 and beyond.

FoS is also participating in two critical AASA cohorts, one for Equity and the other for Transformational Leadership.
